I am using partition magic 8.0 and each time that i try to create a new partition on my hard disk, i get an error message, (it think number #2103), that the disk could not be partitioned to the requested size. There is enough space on my hard drive (more than enough) and I have tried to do it both from a FAT32 drive and an NTFS, to no avail. But it is possible for me to shift the available space from one partition to the other.
Anybody got ideas to help me? I want to create another partion to add to the existing two.

The whole drive is already partioned into two, 30Gb and 45Gb. I want to create another partition with space of 20G or even 15G, but it wouldn't let me. The 45G has 24G of space available and the 30G has 15G available.

And i don't want to lose the data on the disks.

The problem here sounds like total overall size - if you have two partitions, say taking up 20 gigs total, however it is split into two, unfortunately, you may have to delete or at the very least resize one of the partitions to make room for the added third partition you're attempting to create? Not sure if this is your answer or not, but sounds like it from the limited info you've offered so far? Good luck!

Try to make two partitions and make them half of the total of the one, or make a partition half the size your trying to do with the error message and see if it allows you to do it, if it does then you know its a size issue, remember you cannot use the full size of a disk, there is overhead involved with both fat and ntfs, the disk requires space to admin the user files, ie a 120 gig hard drive might only provide 118 gig and lose 2 gig to ntfs, ect.

First reduce the size of one of your partitions having free space and then use that newly freed up space to create a new partition. Mind you be careful with drive letters, you can loose your partition by a single wrong step. Be careful...bye...best of luck

Do you actually have free unpartioned space available. This is not the same as free unused space on partitions. Your two existing partitions might be assigned all the available space on your hard drive.
