Sometimes in early pregnancy a woman will "spot" or have what seems like a light period. It is part of the adjustment process that the body goes through changing from its normal hormone "cycle" to the state of pregnancy and the hormone states related to this. I would suggest that you purchase an pregnancy test and do it - if it turns up positive then find a OB/GYN and get checked out. If it is negative then wait till your next "period" and if not back to normal (or if you start experiencing other symptoms of pregnancy like nausea - sore/tender/swollen breasts - unusual fatigue) still see a Doctor.

First, have you engaged in sexual activity since your last period ? If you play, you have to assume that pregnancy is a possibility, even if you use protection, either barrier or chemical. Best way to check out if you are is to get tested. Pick up a home pregnancy kit. I would suggest getting one that has two testers, in case the first comes out negative and you still don't get your period about 3 days later.
Good luck.

Take a pregnancy test. Implantaion bleeding is very common in the first trimster, sometimes, u bleed throughout the pregancy. After the pregnancy test you will know a little more about the course you need to follow. In both cases it might be wise to see your OB/GYN.

The light bleeding that you have experienced could be Implantation bleeding, that is where the placenta attaches itself to the lining of the uterus. The best way to find out is to get a pregnancy test, or see a doctor.
Good luck and I hope the best for you.

I agree with everyone else....take a test! If you are 12 days late, there should be no problem in getting an accurate result from a HPT.
