MSRP is the best you are you are going to do. I don't know where all these dealers that charge thousands over MSRP are, but I guess they are out there. They would never see a dime of my money.

Use the web and find the true dealer cost. Then make a reasonable offer above dealer cost. Just do a Google search for How do I find Dealer cost for Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

You probably won't. In fact, most Harley dealers are asking a premium up to several thousand $$$ over MSRP for their new bikes.

If you are buying into the image & the myth of H-D, you ar egoing to pay a premium for it. If that's what you want, go for it & have fun. However, if what you really care about is comfort, performance, handling, speed, reliability, and long-distance riding, Harleys are the worst bike out there. Check out a Yamaha V-Star, or Honda cruiser, (or Suzuki, or Kaw). You'll get a MUCH better bike, with a modern engine, and be happier in the long run.

Just one man's opinion.

I heard a rumor that HD are cutting production as dealers are discounting certain models. Depends where you are in the country but high volume dealers have to sell a certain quota to get discounts and make more profit. Wait until end of month, you may get a better deal if they didnt make quota (this isnt best time of year to buy, january/feb are the slow months)
BTW works with just about any automotive/motorcycle dealer :O)

A number of dealers offer discounts on new bikes if you order it prior to normal stock delivery, and pay for it in full.
