yahoo chat is not openning. please tell me wht i do?

I had an issue with this recently as well. Actually reinstall Yahoo messenger as the previous answerer suggested. I might recommend the new 8.0 beta? Since 7.5 gave me more problems. Even though I've done this, it is still a bit flaky on rare occasion. I have no doubt they are working on it, and will be pushing a new release with bug fixes soon too. Good luck!
Completely my mistake... I'm sorry, I wasn't reading carefully.. You're using yahoo CHAT - not messenger! My apologies... Yes, typically this is related to a pop up blocker, or possibly plugins that have not been installed, or could even be a function of your firewall settings. Hold down control as you enter chat. Also, try a different browser? Maybe FIrefox or Explorer? Not sure which you're using now. You'll get there... with patience.

if your connection is through proxy, set yahoo messenger to use the proxy for connectivity. you can do that from preferences
if you select use proxy. go Enable HTTP proxy, in the IP insert the IP of your proxy server, and port 6588.
If your proxy allows the use of Socks (enable the option on the server) and at IP insert the same IP (of the proxy server) and server port is usually 1080 (it should be written in the proxy software what is the port number). I would suggest ussing the Socks method if possible.

yahoo chat is available only in the messenger.download yahoo messenger.if it still doesnt work then u probably dont have java.download java at java.com for free

do you have a pop-up blocker? if so try holding shift down when you open the chat

if you still have your problem please ask your connection service company to solve your problem.cause the proxies defined could affect your messanger
