Not a good idea, because you cant hold conversation with a Parrot, it only repeats....... And may repeat some of your words which you dont want others to hear!!

NOOOOOOO!!! My father in law gave us a talking parrot. I thought it would be great fun. I was sooooo wrong. We gave it back. The thing would shreik when it wanted attention, it was so loud. I have never heard anything so earpiercing and shrill in all of my life. It also learned how to mimic a police siren (also annoying). The thing could say alot but it only had one phrase it would repeat over and over again, "stop it". It was also mean and would bite.
I not only would never have a parrot again, but I would never have any bird due the taste in my mouth that nasty creature left.
PS It was also messy, slinging food out of its cage constantly.

No, thanks. I don't want any nasty bird in my house. Nor a talking
one. A land lord of mine had a talking parrot and it had a foul
mouth. Mr. Denvers sometimes put the bird on the deck and he
had done so the day I was giving a baby shower for a friend. That
bird had all our ears burning!!

i have an umbrella cockatoo, sometime it can be a hard time with him , when he gets to screaming it can drive u nuts plus the nieghbors get tee'd off, he is very dependant on me he wants to be with me every minute and if i'm not there that's when he acts up, he's real messy too throwing his food all over and chewing up everything, u really have to be devoted in careing for a talking bird they r very demanding , but i do like his company , and he is a lot of fun too,it's not always bad , just when i leave the room , so i just take him everywhere with me, he's my shadow

Parrots are a smart creature. This bird could cause trouble between family members as it could tell things that probably should not be repeated.

No way. It will remember almost everything and then shout it out at the wrong moment. Then everyone whose in the room hears what you didn't want them to hear.

No, I don't think you would want it to tell everything that goes on in the home. I mean I don't want to hear it, so I am sure no one else does.

At lst it might be interesting. Later, you might find it noisy and troublesome to keep it.
