When will we start choosing role models based on their behavior, rather than their color? Does it really matter? Stop being segregationist and integrate into your society as a whole!

And, contrary to popular belief, you are NOT defined by your race.

Yes in every walk of life, a role model is a role model, colour does not come into it. People should be recognised for there achievements and skills regardless of colour, creed or religion.

It would be difficult to single out role models as the majority of people assosciate role model with celebrity. But yes I admire the guts and determination of all Asian, Indian, African and Caribean people who have settled and made this country there own. The willingness to integrate and handle new cultures and gain acceptance into a 'historically hostile to change' environment deserves and gets my vote.

As for role models I can think off the top of my head of

My maths Teacher
Bill Morris - Trades Union Leader
Robbie Earle - a true gent

Mister Motivator, Chris Eubank, Rusty Lee, Floella Benjamin and Howard from the Halifax adverts are all role models to me and I'm not even black.

We need to ask why so many hard-working Black females and males have been ignored as role models. Why haven’t Black social workers and nurses been promoted as role models to the same extent as politicians and businessmen?

People should be allowed to choose their own role models, and not have people described as role models pushed on to them.
