Tools, options, history. Change your settings.
In the google search bar delete manually, don't know the way to change that setting.

Tools menu > Options > Privacy > Clear Saved form data now
or right click in the searchbox and Clear Search history

right click on beside your URL and click customize and drag the search engine to the the box.

Customize your navigation tool bar (right click on your toolbar, and hit customize), then drag your search box into the window, and it disappears. Is this what you were asking?
