I have been in Goa with my ex boy friend. But now I am single and want to go there on my own. Do you have any expirience? I am 34 years old and have travelled a lot but never alone.

I travelled in India and I took to wearing a salwar suit with shawl and presented myself as already married. I was treated very well and had an amazing trip. The day I was leaving Delhi I was dressed in western clothing and was harassed more in that one day than the rest of my trip. You must always be smart about your personal safety regardless of where you are.

Being a blonde isn't an issue. Going alone is.

I have been to Goa alone and I still had a great time. Compared to other parts of India, Goa is safe.

Always use caution but I think you'll be alright.

Women travel to India all the time, regardless of being blonde or otherwise. Just be on your guard...and extra careful if you are travelling alone. Yes, there have been cases of women being in trouble but that applies to Indian women too. Have just been host to a French lady travelling alone through India and she went back after a great time.

Don't know. I know that my mother-in-law was offered 20 camels for my wife's sister when they met a bedouin in the middle east on one of their trips, but I don't know about India.

Generally speaking, I don't like the idea of anyone travelling alone. Bring a friend who can watch your back, blond or otherwise...

i have a lot of indian friends who have visited india recently and they all say that american women need to be SO careful around the streets and markets. there are a lot of men there who will try to hit on you so they can possibly get married and hitch a ride back to the states. or if you have to go alone, never talk to poor looking men who will try to talk to you.

Yes this sounds ok, i dont think its too much of hassle now here in India , you may also explore some local Indian friends here (you may even develop on chat) with whom you can even have company if you desire so.
