No, I don't believe that you're the only person that get's a little nervous about the Shuttle landings. I am 50 years old, and have been following the Space Progam since the first "Mercury", one-man-missions back in the 60's. Until the Shuttle missions, I ALWAYS had the utmost confidence in the Space Program...especially with the Apollo Moon Missions...I NEVER had a worry about the missions...UNTIL the Shuttle missons. Since the Shuttle's first began, there have been more accidents in the space missions than in any other program in the entire history of NASA. I heard a "rumor" that NASA was planning another "Moon" mission...and if THAT is true, I would certainly have more confidence with THAT, than what confidence I have with the Space Shuttles. The Shuttles have just plain and simply had too many "accidents" because of NASA turning their heads the "other way" when a potential problem confronts their attention. They need to upgrade their "Safety Standards". Nevertheless, I still like the programs that NASA adheres to...but it IS TIME for another MOON LANDING MISSION. I believe one is coming up...to "practice" what they plan to do on a manned "Mars Expedition". YES!!!

Look Jess, riding one of these things is not a walk in the park. These adventurers, signed up for going into outer space! You cannot forge through the unknown without risk. You figure for the danger, face it without blinking, and get the job done.

No, you're not alone. I'm concerned as well as the families of the astronauts and everyone who is interested in space science.

It's natural to be nervous because it's an unknown. Anything can go wrong at any time. Have faith & good things will happen.
