I am on the chapter of Volume and surface area and this is the question i cant figure out.

How many cubic metres of concrete are needed to surround a rectangular pond 4.25m by 4m with a border 0.25m wide and 18 cm thick

Plz help me!!!!!!

Actually, you need 4.25x4.0x0.18 = 3.06m3 of concrete.
But, you have mentioned about the border of 0.25m wide, then eventuall it cant be of same depth, and if the depth of border is 18cm, then you need the inner pond depth. and if there is only one depth then the whole pond is covered under 4.25mx4.0m. there is no need to confuse the border.
