I would much rather BE the one who works in an office as a cheerful soul who sings a bit

The curmudgeon, because he says nothing, it would be like working alone. The cheerful soul would get on your nerves after a while.

Neither of them would bother me really. As long as neither tries to extend their cheerfulness or misery into my personal space I am happy to be the innocent bystander. Obviously you need cheering up sometimes but if the cheerful soul expects a personality change then that would be extreme and as long as curmudgeon says 'nothing' happy days!

The quieter the better, so I guess that I'd prefer the miserable miserly old curmudgeon.

Cheerful soul. I had a lot of fun working in one office where the people around me were happy and loving people. Then I changed jobs (when I was single and needed good health insurance) and ended up with some of the meanest nastiest people to inhabit the earth. If I hadn't needed good insurance I would have stayed with the other company.

Tough. Depends on how demanding your job is. If you need to concentrate hard, then I would advise the curmudgeon. I that's not a problem, the cheerful person, of course.

if u can sing very well, why not? the people in the office will be pleased with you. If you cant sing that well then sing with a lower voice. If your colleagues like you sing, they will feel like something gone missing whenever you are not around. when u sing the same songs frequently, they will think of you when they heard the real singer singing the song. Hahahahaa....

The curmudgeon; the singing would drive me looney cuckoo head, I'd be choking them to death, and wind up behind bars.
Silence IS golden.
