Nothing. She's a grown woman and can do and say what she pleases. Now, if you have kids and she swears around them... it's perfectly OK to ask her to stop (for the kids) but other than that... let mum be mum.

What is making her angry? Is she under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Is she under a lot of stress? Is she suffering from dementia? Something must be setting her off.

When she gets angry it is best to whisper something like "Mom, what do you want from me?" People who scream and curse when angry feel like they aren't being heard/their needs aren't being met. Seek to understand what is going on with her.

It might be best to sit down and chat with her when she is NOT angry. Tell her what you have observed in a matter-of-fact sort of way. (ie. "This week you yelled and cursed at me three times. You have never done that in the past.") Ask her if something is going on that you can help her with.

Things appear to be escalating. It is NOT a good environment for a young child. Maybe you should think about alternative living arrangements.

Put on some tight pants and tell her
"It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life"

And if she doesn't respect Jon Bon Jovi then the woman doesn't have a soul

She is old. Her ways cannot be changed.
Try not to make her angry and then maybe she won't curse you.
Sorry, I know that that can be painful.
