Look for pests and check to see if your plants are getting too much sun or water that might be leaching oout nutrients..
You should be watering plants from the bottom. Spraying foliage can cause burns in summer heat.
Feed a long-term solid food such as osmocote and apply pest control as necessary. Shade plants for a couple of hours during the most sun exposure and adjust watering time, amount and method of application to see a change.

Sounds like they're getting too much light, believe it or not. Move them to a spot where the sun isn't so direct, and they can get shade for part of the day. The dark spots could be mold or rot---maybe you're watering them too much as well.

light green may mean lack of iron
dark spots could be over-watering or some parazites.
As to too much/little light, it really depends what kind of specific plants. If you have plants that can't stand direct sunlight you may be burning them (dark spots).

Put them in indirect light. They are getting too much direct sun.

Sounds like a fungus problem. Go to your local home store and ask for sure and get advice on what to use.
