to fix it, click tools, then options. click the view tab, then under formatting marks, make your changes. they dont show up when printing if you leave them on though.

In the toolbar on the top, find the button that has the symbol for paragraph (the one that appears when you press "Enter"). It appears pressed. Click once with the mouse, so that it is not pressed. The extra symbols should disappear.

I agree with the previous poster
I am assuming that you are using some kind of a text editor like editplus where you have the options like "view tabs and spaces"
usually seen in the top menu under the "View" options.

Deselecting that option should make it go away for you!

this is because you have the view white space characters turned on. This will display spaces as . and line breaks as the paragraph character (¶).

look in a menu in word that looks like "pi" sing, you know, mathematics, a pi, 3,14, ludolfs number. ok nevermind, do this:
tools / options / view and there under formatting marks uncheck all

there is a Show/Hide button in the Standard toolbar. it must be turned on. just turn that off and your problem will vanish.

first check if any one of ur control (CTRL) keys are not permanently clicked..or pressed down...
