AMD is better than Intel, they have better cooling, are easier to overclock, and are cheaper than their intel counterparts...that said, go for something faster than a 3000+, I would recommend a 3700+ or 3800+

ok, at first they are the two great twin middle processors. do no longer enable everyone have you ever think of that amd sucks or that intel sucks. The Pentium D 930 has 3.0ghz in line with middle, 2mb L2 cache on each and every middle, and a 800 fsb. The Athlon 4400 has 2.3ghz in line with middle, 512kb on each and every middle, and a 2000mhz fsb. In velocity, i could say the pentium D is ultimate as a results of specifications; besides the undeniable fact that, i've got heard it runs particularly warm. i could say the two way, you have become a great processor you would be very pleased with!

Dual core's are a waste of money - unless you're buying for a specific game that supports dual core cpus.
Look into the AMD FX family - that's where you'll get gaming performance (for a steep price heh). AMD in general will beat Intel in gaming.
