Ya it is possible in Yahoo , Gmail , Rediffmail .
I don't know about others.
As you have posted Question in Yahoo Answers then I suppose you
are Asking about Yahoo Account:
Here are The Steps:
1>Log in to Your Yahoo Mail Account.
2>Go to 'Options'
3>Now Under 'Management' there is 'Vacation Response' option
4>Click It, Now Set the Period for which you want this Vacation Response to be Activated
5> Remenber to Click - 'Turn Auto-Response On'.

Well this is for Yahoo.

For Gmail :
1> After logging in , go to Settings
2>In general tab there is 'Vacation responder' option. Use it

Similarly for rediffmail.

Happy Vacations :c)

Yes, there is. The way to configure it will depend on your email provider or if your email is web based. Normally, you would go into the options menu and look for an option named "Vacation Response"...or something similar.

If your email is not web based, normally the company that provides you with email has a web page where you can get your email...on that page you can also find the options for vacation response.

Hope this helps.

It all depends on the email client you're using. Most do allow this, but some do not.

What email program or service are you using? Outlook? Outlook Express? Yahoo online? Hotmail? Eudora?

If you're looking for an important email while you are away, using auto response will not help you get your important email. So I'm a tad bit confused on that comment.

Goto your mail account settings, then check for the link for "Holiday Message", or "Leave Message Setting" or something similar. There you can give you message and go for a holiday happily. This facility is now a days given by most of the mail browsers. Once you have saved your message you can turn it on/off when ever required.

Yes, of course.

Go to "options" and you should see a button for 'away on vacation' or 'out of office for the day'...

remember to hit 'save'

don't forget to go back to 'options' and turn the notice off when you return!
