They show us that they are friends ,but actually they pity us , we can read their face ,eyes , but we do not hurt them by saying anything ,but we are hurt at our soul ,this is not at my case only it is for most of disable persons . Myself I am Fashion Stylist in India and earning in 6 figures per month and running a marriage bereau for disabled persons. If anyone needs my support in this case , it will be my pleasure.

my first inclination is to believe in people, so I don't personally think that people don't want to be friends with the physically disabled, but instead I believe that they avoid you because they do not know what to say or do. They do not want to offend you and they find it difficult to see the similarities and needs of all people whether disabled or not. Sometimes if a physically disabled person begins the conversation, they can grow a friendship; try it.

Maybe you are reading their eyes and faces wrong! It is True that some people pity disabled but these people just don't know how to handle it when they see a disabled person.I have a niece, and a nephew who are disabled. They are the most wonderful people. Always smiling and happy. I wish people that were not disabled could understand how fortunate they are not to have these problems and thank God for all the good things in their life. No one can truly know how a disabled person feels unless they are in their shoes. These people that show you that they are friends, just accept the way they are
