In my personal opinion I don't think it is right. Do you not think it would be much more exciting to try for a child and get a surprise at the birth? This is now the age of the designer baby...

Designer babies are expensive! Think of the college fund you could start with that money. I was desperate for a daughter and when the ultrasound very clearly revealed a boy, I cried. And cried. But now, 20 months after his birth, I would not trade my son for a billion dollars, a full-time nanny and perfect twin girls. Oh, and a tummy tuck. I have a friend who only wanted boys and she had a girl. Now she's pregnant again and hopes her twins are going to be more girls. Go figure!
Mother Nature will sort things out for you. You don't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.

It is a personal decision weather or not to "make" your child a certain sex. Though I believe it is wrong. There are some many more important things to worry about then the sex. What if you "doctor" this child to get the sex you want only to make a mistake and cause a deformity?? You never can be 100% sure things will work out! People are trying to play God (or whatever you believe in) now a days and things could o seriously wrong. You have to think wisely before you make a decision. remember you can NEVER take it back once you do it!

Personally, I don't feel it's right thing to do. I believe that a child should be brought to earth naturally and not to use any means of technology.

It's your decision, so it shouldn't matter. You are the one who has to handle the responsibility of raising your kids. It's as natural as any other way, because the human mind is the one who has been able to develop and use whatever technologies are available to us.

I agree with tweedy778, this technology is so new, you don't know if you are affecting anything else other than the sex of the child.
Do you seriously want to run the unneccessary risk of having a hermaphodite child?

Its your decision and let your heart be the guide. While others may have a problem with this the child will be yours and it comes down to what you feel is right for you and your mate. I wish you luck!
