Now obviously I have not generated the image data programatically so this example is wrong from that point of view. There is also additional formatting provided by answers. IE seems to be objecting to the data being invalid but it should not be doing any validation on the CDATA part of the XML.

What are you using to receive the XML?

So the next question is why are you not using the URL of the image?
