well coming from a chinese background and with adaquete understanding of taoism. from a chinese perspective in the old days, not nowdays with western influence such as captilism and communism. life is really about prolonging time, in which one whould live in harmony with nature and it's suroundings

time is precious and it sounds all the same every where whether you co relate it to money or anything.for example,if you are not on time you miss the plane too.so this is the first thing which you are taught in school is to reach in time just to make you understand that time is valuable.

In south Africa - if some one is late or not doing anything after you have asked them to we say they are running on africa time.
