Yes. Especially if your baby is older than 6 months old, you are no longer exclusively breastfeeding, your period has returned since the birth or baby goes at least one longish stretch per day without nursing.

I nursed an older sibling through a pregnancy twice. Keithen was 16 months old and still nursing when I got PG with Kaylee. They were born 25 months apart. I nursed him through my pregnancy and then he tandem nursed with Kaylee until she was 16 months old. I got PG with Ruby when Kaylee was 14 months old. (So for the first 2 mos of that PG I was nursing BOTH Keithen and Kaylee.) Kaylee nursed through most of my PG with Ruby but weaned right before Ruby was born. The girls are 23 months apart and didn't get to tandem nurse.

Get ahold of the book "Adventures in Tandem Nursing: Breastfeeding During Pregnancy and Beyond" by Hilary Flower. It discusses nursing through pregnancy and nursing siblings of different ages. It's the best book out there on the subject! (The ONLY book dedicated completely to this topic.)

For the person who said you don't have your period but you still ovulate while nursing...not exactly true. If you get PG on the VERY FIRST TIME that you have a cycle after the birth, you'll not have a period. Ovulation occurs BEFORE menstration, so the only way you could get PG without ever seeing your period is if you got PG on your very first cycle.

Yes, it's a myth that you can't get pregnant when you're still breast feeding. I know a lot of women who got pregnant while they were still breast feeding.

Yes it is. It is a myth that you can not get pregnant when you are lactating. My Aunt became pregnant when her first son was 3 months old.

yep, especially if you're down to 3 or fewer feedings a day. if you're still breast-feeding full-time, it would be unlikely that you could be pregnant, but stranger things have happened.... good luck!

Definenately!!! Even though you may not have your period while nursing, you still ovulate...weird, I know. So, yes, you can get pregnant while nursing if you dont use protection.
