I swear by a product called M30 (www.m30.com), and the best part is its cheap (my local dollar store sells it for $1). spot treat the stain on the shirt when its dry, let sit for 15 min, and wash normally. They say you can add a few teaspoons to the wash cycle along with your normal detergent on severely soiled cloths, but I've never had to do it.
Hope this helps

first hand wash it with Dawn dishwashing liquid. I always buy an extra bottle for my husband. He is always working on the cars. He says it is the best for getting the grease off his hands, so I am sure it will work in the laundry.

Dawn dishwashing liquid full strength. Let is sit for 24 hours, then wash. Don't put it in hot water until you do the Dawn treatment.

Try the hottest setting and add bleach to the water, along with the detergent. Oh and spray it with a stain remover spray.

A good pretreater (Zoot, shout) should work, with a pre-wash soaking/rubbing of detergent. Bleach, too!
