I was considered "beautiful" when I was younger. I also have a genius IQ. People flocked to me, they said I was "charismatic."

A few years ago I had some health problems and gained a lot of weight. I virtually disappeared. I went to school and kept getting smarter, but I was still invisible. I was treated differently, shunned in some groups. I was not seen by society as intelligent or even able to make a viable contribution. It was difficult to get a job.

Then I lost 100 pounds and suddenly, I was "smart" again. I was viewed as beautiful and my intelligence was noticed.

Funny, I never waned in my intelligence.

The merits of beauty, you are noticed, you are credible. I am called a "brainiac" by my friends. They think I am "different" and "strange." Smart people don't always fit in. We are outcasts, outsiders. Even when attractive, I still don't quite fit, most people just don't get me.

Society likes beauty. Society fears brains.

Beauty is a reflection of the state of the soul.

Brains are a reflection of the history of the soul.

You can look at one's beauty and get a picture of how they maybe or talk to that person and hopefully understand how they got that way, but that is about it. They are both shadows of who we are.
