Do you like the star wars saga when the Force was a spiritual aspect, or when lucas tried to get a more medical and scientific explanation with midichlorians?

I liked it when it was spiritual. As far as I am concerned, the last 3 SW movies need not have been made at all. The acting was horrible, the plot line reeked, and there was Jar-Jar.

Yoda was the only cool thing...

I don't think Lucas did that. I think he went with the ancient Greek philosopher that in the early 600 to 400 BC contemplate the basic elements of life and eventulally came up with the concept we call an atom. Prior to that, they went with earth, water, air, and fire. Midiclhlorians are merely Lucas's attempt to rename an atom. Sure it sounds more genetic than anything else, but you have to reach your audience in term they are willing to accept.

Did I think it was necessary to do this? No. But, the point is this Luke and Leia lived in dark times when much of the knowledge of the force was hidden. The jedi temple was in the hands of the Sith. Vader and the Emporer hid the truth from the world of why some people had powers they could not explain. The Midichlorians were a truth they hid. If you don't know they exist then all this jedi training seems like a bunch of religious nonsense going no where. Including the concept in the story also merges science and religion in a way that show it is possible for the two to coexist in what is the truth of things. In that sense it was a good idea. You be the judge though as to if it bothers you or not. Frankly, I just think of it as a writer prerogative to write the way he feels.

I'm not a Star wars fan. But I did like the force being a mysterious power. I like to think like christianity has several interpetation and houses of faith. That the Jedi are made up of groups that either believe in the midichlorians or not.
according to wikipedia:
"A venerable if maverick Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn is a student of the living Force. Unlike other Jedi Masters, who often lose themself in the meditation of the "unifying Force", Qui-Gon Jinn lived for the moment. The Unifying Force is the other side of the Force (the other is the Living Force). It is the "greater, cosmic Force" that "has to do with destiny"

This seems to say that not all Jedi use the force or believe in it in the same way. and like baptist and catholics they are of the same order but of different branches.

Defnitely the spiritual aspect, I think he kind of detracted from it when he tried to explain it too much.
