The questions allow you to learn. The answers give you points that are just for fun. There are no cool prizes but occasionally Yahoo has special promotions that can have some prizes.

basically , people ask all types of weird and wonderful questions, of which you will see on ur main screen.
when you see a Question that u would like to answer, U simply click on the question , then go to answer , after u hit ok , u then preview it , and go to submit.
This will give you 2 points for each answer.
If the person agrees, that the answer you gave is the top best answer, they will click a link that says ' vote as best answer ' , and that gives you a further 10 points !!!.
This also applies, to when you ask a question , after the 24hr period, U can click on ur name , to view your asked questions, click on the question u want to view, see the replies you have had, and if u want too chose one as the best answer, remember that gives that particualar person 10 points.

Users of Yahoo! Answers may answer and ask questions. Points are reduced from your overall score when asking questions. You can gain points by answering questions. Having your answer made Best Answer is a bonus and you are given more points on that.

Welcome to the neighborhood, I'm new too but I figured it out on my own and in my spare time I come and spread my 2 cents for fun or just to be helpful. I didn't know we were supposed to get 10pts for best answers though. So thank you for posting your Q otherwise I might not of read your answers and found out that I got jipped. now I just have to find out how to fix that problem. We ask and answer questions. You lose points for asking but gain points for answering. If you give the best answer you get 10 points. Anytime you get enough points, you can redeem them for really cool prizes.

ok it works like this.
You ask questions people answer them.
Depending on wot level u r u get to ask a certain amount of ques and answer a certain amount.
You get points added for answering but get points takne away from asking. ...

just browse through the questions , and add your answer to the ones you want to. or you can ask anything, and people will answer.
