Take slow, deep breaths before hand, and look out to the sky in front, not towards the ground, waiting to exit.
Imagine youself, being congratulated, after, on the ground, and by friends in the pub, and giving the cheque to the charity, and then go for it.

Over 50 jumps. Fear is healthy don't let it control your world. Skydiving is easier than bungee jumping. You will not even see the ground until you step out of the plane. Plus you'll either have a jump-master strapped to your back in which case i suggest you lift your feet when the ground comes so he take the weight and you don't sprain an ankle. Or you'll do a static line, kind of like the military jumpers in the movies. I would recommend the tandem. You'll be scared but thats natural enjoy the fear it helps you know your alive.

I did a tandem jump from 14,000ft about 6 months ago in Australia and it was one of the most thrilling experiences I've ever had. The rush you get is amazing!!

Now I'm not afraid of heights, but I'm not a fan either. All you have to remember is that you are in a controlled environment with trained professionals, so you shouldn't really be that nervous. Just go and enjoy it, its for a good cause and it'll definitely be an experience of a lifetime!

You're nervous? Don't be - everyone I've seen land at Langar has always said the magic words "I don't believe it"! (What it is they don't believe, I really don't know!)

You'll love it - on the day you'll be assigned a tandem master who will talk you through everything, put on your jumpsuit, harness, goggles and helmet, walk out to the aircraft and hitch onto your tandem master.

On the ascent you will be required to tell your tandem master lots of good jokes, for which he will still exit the aircraft, but will probably grab your hands whilst in freefall and show you how to do rotations, etc. Ask him nicely whilst in the aircraft and he'll probably let you steer the canopy for a minute or so!

You'll love it, but beware of becoming totally hooked, as the entire contents of your bank account will be spent wisely on jumpsuits, rigs, helmets, gloves, altimeters......

Forget the kids - you'll find the real meaning of life moments after you've left the door of the aircraft! Keep your eyes open really wide for maximum effect! Go for it!

Either you're going to do it or you're not. If you are really intending to go for it, then forget about it now and just lead your normal life. If you can't stop worrying then either don't do it, call it off or remember that no-one wants you to get hurt but especially the organisers. When you are sitting in the plane ready to go, know that you're doing something really worthwhile, take a really deep breath and keep counting - your breaths, that is. Follow your breath as it enters your nose and follow it down to the lungs. Then follow it back out ready for the next. Try it now. And the best of luck.

You'll love it.

You go for it girl!!! There is absolutely no way of explaining to you the feeling you get.

Absolutely amazing only real problem is the adrenaline rush becomes addictive and it's not a cheap sport, but worth every penny

You could use the services of a licensed Neuro Linguistic Programmer to help overcome your fear.
