I have a lot of experience in writing resumes, creating CVz and making job applications.
But...
I seem to be doing something wrong as I can't seem to get a job.
Please tell me what is it that employers want in a resume, CV and job application.

Any resume could always use a good revamp. Check around on the Internet for some examples, tips, hints, etc. -http://www.resume-help.org/

It could also be the industry your applying into, seasonality, the employers screening practice, etc.

Depending on the industry, your locality, or the market. You may just be one of hundreds of applicants trying to get in the door. Competition is steep in any market these days and standing out is hard. Doing extra research on the company is good. Find out if they are recruiting at universities or other landmarks in the area and get a face to face with a recruiter.

Do you live near a university or close to some school or technical training center? I live near four universities and trying to find a job or getting a resume in is harder during a graduation phase since at that point I am literally one of thousands.

Most employers now use automated resume processing that scans for keywords; usually contained in the job description, and many times they don't honestly know how to use the tools correctly.

Worst case scenario is to apply for something outside of your realm of expertise but in your realm of experience. Everybody has experience that can be applied universally to any job, it just takes some creative cross functional thinking to see it.

Good luck.

The easiest way to get a job is to know someone at the company where you want to work. They can refer you to the hr staff. i suggest going to industry meetings or anywhere when you can meet someone who works inthat field or company.
good luck
