They don't. They sneak out of the ocean at night and get pizzas and burgers on land then silently slip back into the ocean.

Maybe you must just put this question in the zoology section under Science & Maths. But anyway, a Whale constantly let the the water whirl through its mouth and has 'sifs' that capture the plankton. Millions and Millions of them, at the end of the day its (plankton) biomass is huge, hundreds of kilograms, and the whale don't even have to chew.

The larger Baleen whales do like the Blue Whale...smaller whales such as the Killer Whale eat seals. The larger whales eat all the time but the smaller whales eat less frequently.

Large whales have been known to eat large fish such as sturgeon and baracuda. Only smaller whales live on plankton exclusively.

Consume a hundred thousand in one gulp and do this all the time day in and day out...Since your a whale that uses baleen to filter out all those little tasty krill shrimps, you open as wide as possible, shut with hopefully a big mouthful and proceed to squirt the water out of your baleen filter.Swallow.Repeat...Much like how we squirt water through our teeth...tom science
