the 2 trillion dollars spent in Iraq. If this money went to a valid welfare en devour would you still support spending it?
You should be outraged that 2 trillion of your tax dollars went overseas instead of capital projects here in the US something tangible that the US will have forever maybe a balistic missle defense system .

While we have been working on one A ballistic missile defense will not save anyone from a terrorist attack.
Public works programs are not the correct function of our government. The most basic function of our government is to protect citizens and and our interests from enemies foreign and demostic. That is why we are in Iraq. The soldiers who bare the true cost know how important Iraq is. Why so many citizens back here don't get it?
Like it or not people in many regions are raised to hate us by dictatorships that benefit by keeping their people misinformed.
A free Iraq scares Iran and many of our enemy's like Alqueda because of the long term effects it will have on the whole region and us at home. Why else would they try so hard to undermine our efforts. Real leadership is doing what you know is right long term even when the press and the people can be extremely short sighted.

The government thinks things out, and at times comes up with the wrong answers.
I only think that the money you mentioned is being wasted because of the conduct of our involvement, not the involvement itself. It has taken over 30 years for our involvement in Vietnam to bear fruit,
Something had to be done in the middle East, posssibly not this current action. By the options were limited, Involvement was needed years ago, and the issue was danced around until it became to large to ignore.
If our government was to truly think things out, there would have been strong policies for the middle East previous to this.

So isolationist! If America did that the country would suffer immediate and catastrophic collapse. The rest of the world would stop trading with them. The multinational companies would move out, including microsoft and the like.
The terrorist in Iraq and other countries are anti American so if you stop fighting them abroad guess where they will take the fight to! Another reason America would see a catastophic decline it would be under extreme armed attack at home!

well ,thats one way to look at it ,but as anger grows and death flows rapid ,iraq was and is a good long term investment ,hell they got about 200,000,000 barrals of untapped oil ,its ours ALL AMERICIAN ,we wont need it for at least 5 years ,so stay safe in the ground my and your new american oil,and we earned it,so no sharing......light sweet crud oil,,da bests..a great investment and no shopping on sunday as we are not a retial store....
