Have the ignition control module tested, it's an on-going problem with many '83 Chevy C10.

If your sure the battery is ok, verify that 12 Volts appears at the starter solenoid when you turn the ignition key to the start position. If it does, the solenoid should activate the starter motor and crank the engine. If it doesn't, you may have a bad ignition switch or an open circuit that feeds the 12 Volts to the ignition switch.

If you are in a pinch, you can sometimes take a screwdriver and tap on the ignition module with the handle to get you going. It's a good idea to buy a whole new distributor but you can just replace the ignition module for a few bucks.

thier is a red wire running to the fire wall it goes to a small black thing with 2 bolts not sure what it is called but it is a fuse link test it using a jumper wire if not that check fuse links at starter
