The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

The article "Earning Money from Surveys" provide a short list of legitimate market research firms and contains explanations of what to look for when joining surveys (and weeding out the fraudulent ones)

Ive signed up to Valued Opinions (www.valuedopinions.co.uk ) and with them you get paid between 50p and £2 depending on the survey. You can withdraw your money when you get to £5 and you get a gift voucher for a shop (you decide which one).

The problem I have found though is that I fill in the first couple of questions and I either dont fit the survey criteria or they have already had the required amount of answers.

Ive been doing it for a couple of months and Im only at £3 so I cant take any money out!

Well
I can confirm that you can actually earn and extra income by taking surveys online or by reviewing new products. Many big companies need to know consumer's opinions about a product before big launches or big marketing campaigns. That's why they are willing to pay you either directly or via intermediates. You have to choose real programs though promoted by real companies or trusted networks. On this site you can find some good ones: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=555
Cheers.

Yes people have made money from it. I myself have never done it. but my friend did. And he ended up living with me for a few months while he found a new job. DONT DO IT. most of them are scams. If you do actually make money you will make about a doller an hour. But i wouldn't try it. they are just scams out to take your money.

Yeah they are a con... a good survey site is www.testandvote.com

You get points for answering surveys and whenever you have 40000 points you can change that into a £10 amazon voucher... :)

A lot of companies depend on market research. I don't know of anyone who's actually gotten the money promised.
Most "sweepstakes" type prizes - the type based on pure luck - have such amazingly high odds, that you can't count on seeing any cash for participation.

Some of them are cons some of them are not. The company I answer surveys for "Pine Cone Research" pays me $5.00 for each survey I complete.

www.mysurvey.com is great. they're real. They give you points that you can redeem for prizes or money.

I've been a member there for two years and they're completely legit.
