mexico qualified as usual for the worldcup but this time i thought they had a chance,any body who saw the last intercontinental cup and watch mexico play ,they will say mexico had a lot of potential to get to the quarter finals,mexico has a world class goalkeeper and a defense tht will be a major obstacle for any team wishing to score against them and tht was proven in Argentina's match,however in this tournament,defense didnt solve their problem with scorin..which was a major issue
IRAN:
i think irans matches in this tournamentwas a political dilemma.they were hoping tht they will reach the second round having one of the strongest attacking line amongst rising teams..but i didnt think it was proven in this tournament
Angola:
a first time appearance is sure to put a lot of pressure on the angolas.but i was shocked by the lousy performance of angola in the last african cup of nations..the angolas didnt shine in the world cup given the fact tht they lie in a somewhat moderate group where almost none of the teams secure a 100% second round spot...
PORTUGAL:
portugal lost the final against greece in Euro 2004 despite the fact tht it was played on their home ground,they beated many strong competitors on the way,made their qualifications an easy one with a final 7-1 trashing russia...There only problem is with scoring ,,,
Any way if you were asking the best team in group D i think it will either be portugal or mexico,...if portugal solves the problem of scoring i think it is the best
