Get financial counseling.
Your relatives shouldn't help..... I know that sounds harsh, but this is YOUR problem, not theirs.
It is you and your husband's responsibility to get this under control.
Cut up all credit cards.
Only buy what you absolutely need.... and pay cash for it.
There is a HUGE difference between what you NEED and what you WANT. It's all the "wants" that got you into this mess.
There are non-profit organizations that can help you consolidate your debt. I suggest you get started calling them this morning.
You and your husband need to move forward and take care of this immediately.... before it gets too overwhelming and stressful and hurts your relationship with each other. As far as your child in school....... see what grants or student loans he/she can get. Let them get a part-time job and share with the expenses. If need be.... they can take a year off and save money towards their own education. Life is hard. But with good will on your part .... you can survive. The most important thing is .... figure out how you got into this mess and take steps to ensure that it never happens again. Set a good example for your children. In the future, only spend money you can afford to spend.... and no more. Credit cards are the worse culprit to family finances! Here's a couple of links that can help you. Good luck!

You'll have to sacrifice something if you want your son to stay in medicine.
And start selling things out of your house and both of you have 2 jobs.
Seems like more and more Americans are working 2 jobs. Why is this.! Me and my husband are working 2 each; what is going on that we good Americans have to work 2 jobs now. We too are in debt but he has 2 kids and I have none.
