i remember a few years ago i had this dream ( i would say about 7 time, not anymore though) i drempt that i woke up from bed and i lifted up and around the room like i was floating (like a spirit) cause i was still laying down and and there was a red night light and i would hear a sharp ring (not like a phone but like a ringing in your ear) the noise would grow loader and loader and then i would wake up sweaty (maybe i was being abducted by the aliens?))
anybody know what this might mean or have similar encounters?

When you have a reoccurring dream(one that keeps coming back) it usually happens because your subconscious mind wants you to know something that you are ignoring or don't want to know about. You need to remember if you can what was happening at the time you were dreaming this dream - like what problems were you having during the day. You may have also been having an out of body experience when you get into a meditative state and your spirit leaves your body, the ringing in your ears can happen when you are experiencing this. Waking up sweating tells me that you were probably scared at the time because it feels quite strange and you don't believe that it's happened. No i don't think you were abducted by aliens. Do some research and ease your mind. lots of luck

I used to have a problem when I was just drifting off into sleep I would feel like I was raised about 3 inches off my bed and spun around and I would actually feel it happening but I was aware that it wasn't real and that if I could move it would stop and I'd wake up but I was paralyzed and therefore could not move. Sometimes there would be an indistinct laughing face on top of my entertainment unit. Finally I would move my toe and everything would be back to normal but I wouldn't be able to sleep for hours after. From what I've read this is called a hypnagogic hallucination. It happens as your body falls asleep but your mind is still active which is why I was aware of it not being real, but it isn't technically a dream. Scientist believe that it is the cause of out of body experiences, alien abductions, succubus encounters, and other types of strange experiences. If it happens after you awaken it is known as a hapnogogic hallucination. I still have them but since learning of them I am able to control it and it has lead me to be able to be lucid during dreaming sometimes allowing me to use pretty much all of my senses during dreams and control them sometimes, I now look forward to the flights and really do have a sensation of flying when it occurs. For some reason though the flight only happens occasionally and I have no control over it but as I fall asleep I can always tell when it will happen because my head begins to buzz my head constantly feels like it is falling through my pillow. Hope this helps

Let me analyze your dream

It sounded like a dream of anxiety.

dream of being lifted up = controlled by others
red light = danger
sharp ring = warning

Yes, you may feel like being abducted by some sort, but actually, you are stressed by some kind of anxiety. You are telling yourself to get up, but couldn't. Seeing red light is to alert to stop at certain things and Sharp ring means warning at something.

You may have done something wrong in the past years that your guilt conscience keeps telling to worry..

I could be wrong, that is how I see from your dream

Having a dream 7 times means you're ignoring something that happened during the day or the week or something is bothering you. Depending if it happened 7 times straight in a row night after night or just various other nights. But it does sound like you were having an out of body experience and it scared the hell out of you.

Sounds like a basic OBE (out of body experience). Odds are you where just really relaxed not too deep asleep, or even asleep at all. But it doesnt happen anymore you say. well maybe you should try and relax. you must be really stressed.

there's this gnawing emptiness in my heart
i don't know why
its that old feeling again
of being surrounded with friends yet feeling so alone
my heart's so heavy; its sinking
i find it difficult to breathe
i laugh but actually i cry
life's a stageplay
close the curtain on me

Maybe you just shouldn't have dropped acid and stood next to the speakers at that concert!
