I think that this will simmer into a regional conflict but eventually spread to Iran and Syria. If that happens then the World will be SOL. I think this could than start a new world war because of "intangling alliances" between the World's major players. Sad.

Hopefully the war will spread to Syria and Iran and Saudi Arabia. Israel will destroy all of its enemies. Hopefully the U.S. will enter the war and show the Middle East that Israel is the greatest civilization in the region.

It'll either escalate further or the UN will try to step in, but they have their hands full with Iran and Korea right now. I think they might stop short of a ground invasion, they'll probably just keep bombing the crap out of everyone. I'm surprised Syria and Iran haven't mounted attacks against Israel yet, it looks like they're too chicken so are just supplying weapons to Lebanon and letting them get slaughtered.

Hezbollah will continue to attack civilians in Israel.
Israel will continue to hit back.
Syria and Iran will shout loudly but secretly provide more weapons to Hezbollah.
Israeli and Lebanese civilians will be killed and injured.
The Lebanese army will do nothing.
The UN will get involved, demand a ceasefire and in 2 weeks send troops in to peace-keep.
These troops will not stop Hezbollah firing missiles or disarm them under resolution 1559. Israel will be told off for continuing to bomb the missile launchers. (Consider the lack of action of UNIFIL)
The kidnapped soldiers will be tortured and killed. Their bodies may be returned or not depending on the level of torture.
