Hey what's wrong with my car? When I push the gas quickly, the engine will almost stall out then back-fire. When I am accelerating, it will become unsmooth (jerky). It idles fine and it starts up fine.

the fuel and air mixture is wrong, it needs a diagnostic tune up at your garage, sounds like its running rich to me

air fillter, fuel filter, fuel pump, cadilac converter, carborator... lots that does that but if it idles fine i would say replace the air filter and check for obstructions in the air intake... also maybe exhaust/ muffler. sometimes it kicks like that cause the air cant get out. if changing the air filter dont work put some fuel cleaner in your tank. FUELWize from www.livinity.com will do the trick.

Your description sounds like a "lean misfire". Unfortunately, there is no yr. / make / model given to determine what type of fuel delivery system you have, and by that determine the possible causes.

Sounds like you need a fuel filter in a bad way.
