I disable the function on my website to stop people stealing the copyright on my photos (I'm a photographer). If the function is disabled it is probably for the same reason so you may want to think twice about copying it. Not all images are royalty free.

You've gotten some very good answers Just to clarify a few things (for xp): Select the picture/object/word/sentence by first clicking on or just to one side of the object/picture/word/sentence, hold down your left mouse button and drag your mouse across the object/picture/word/sentence to highlight it. Then use the following key commands to do your choice of commands: Ctrl + C = Copy - Hold down the Ctrl key and press the C key. Ctrl + V = Paste - Hold down the Ctrl key and press the V key. Ctrl + X = Cut (cannot cut from the web) - Hold down the Ctrl key and press the X key. Ctrl + S = Save - Hold down the Ctrl key and press the S key (this option is not always available on some programs) When you copy a picture and want to paste it, be sure to have a program handy to save the copied picture to! If you shut down your computer before pasting and saving the copied object, the object will be lost. Some of the other suggestions listed here I am not sure about, such as pressing the button just to the right of the right control button, or the Shift + F10 method...and I've never used a Mac before so you will have to see on these suggestions on your own. Good luck!

Depends on your software. In windows, the easiest is open my pictures, click the picture, look to the left and you will find a menu. click copy, select destiation and you are done. If you are emailing it, the right click menu will give you that option. If you are copying a picture from the web, download Faststone capture and learn to use it . easy, free and will capture most anything. East to find with a websearch, and uses almost no resources.

Get the picture on the screen and press ALT and "Print Screen" (the button near the Scroll Lock and Pause Break, top right of keyboard).
Then open up MS Paint from Accessories and click "EDIT" and choose "PASTE".
You should then be able to crop the picture from this "Print Screen"
