Although it's hard to notice because it's always painted the same color as car, but it's ALWAYS on. Start looking and you will see what I mean. I mean I can see that to be legal they might need to have a plate on, but for a commercial and most the time it looks as though it was made under controlled conditions i.e. closed road/street/track whatever, And anyway I don't think it's legal to paint your license plate to match the car in an effort to hide it. Ya it's stupid but I gotta know (OCD, lol) Thanks

No that would be illegal to paint your plate

To make the commercial appealable to the viewing public by concentrating on looking at the car rather than on the plate.
