wearing school uniforms is better for the advantange of all pupils.
In africa forinstance some children are coming from very poor families, cant afford to buy all the nice clothes but realy want to get an education.it is an advantage that all students wear uniforms even those who are able to buy latest trends in fashion.
you cant tell who wears what at home or during the weekend hence everybody feels equal and free

Certainly school uniforms are better than free choice of clothes for school.
Because free choice of clothes tends the students to wear the latest trend of dresses which really charges the parents a lot. Moreover some of them will possess only few dresses which they need to repeat it after a week .The free choice of clothes also creates the diffference of rich & poor child.

I guess that wearing school uniform is better as students tend to wear the latest fashion and show off. In turn, their parents will suffer as their children will ask them to buy new clothes every time a new fashion comes out. For those students who cannot afford to buy fashionable clothes, they may feel left out. However, if they wear their school uniform is a unkempt manner, they also reflect badly on themselves and the school's teaching. It all depends on how the students want to look at it. They can still make themselves look good in school uniform by being tidy. Wearing school uniforms also sort of bond the students together

At our Elementary campus I would have to say that uniforms would be best. Our Principal is very SOFT and does not demand that the dress code be followed. Therefore we have students showing up in flip-flops, mini skirts, high heeled shoes, baggy pants 2-3 sizes to big with underwear hanging out, inappropriate shirts with beer and drug ads on them, halter and mid drift shirts with hip hugger shorts and pants allowing the entire mid section to hang out. So I would have to vote YES to uniforms for now unless the Principals puts her foot down. But what must also be kept in mind is that a lot of the parents are very Young, themselves, so they allow their children to dress the way they do, and do not even realize it is not appropriate dress for school. Yes this is an ELEMENTARY campus.

(currently a 'victim' of school uniforms)
they're not that bad really.some looks ugly and stuff, but a student should feel proud belonging to that school..and wearing school uniforms are better for the not-so-rich kids. and it definitely saves the trouble of having to decide what to wear(and end up wearing pyjamas to school)
so yeps for me :)

i attended a uniformed school for all of my elementary and middle school yrs. i felt better b/c the wealth and price of clothing brands was not visible and i - who had a distinctly different fashion sense than all the other girls in my cliquish school - was not ostracized.
