My 11-year-old daughter thinks joining the clubs etc at school is "geeky." Any tips for getting her interested in things?

Try letting her think you are against her joining a particular club or activity and watch her rush to join up! Reverse psycology, works like a dream! Good luck!

Maybe things outside the school would be better for her....possible volunteering(spell?) at the local animal shelter or with a nearby rescue orginization.They are both ALWAYS understaffed and overwhelmed!! Rescue orgs. are a bit more personal so w/her age that might be the way to go( you would be more welcomed as an involved parent while Shelters are a bit more business minded) Most kids really like helping animals. She could walk dogs, play with the lonely kittens & cats etc. ps-I cant tell you how much she would be appreciated while feeling a sense of doing good for herself. Why not??

Make it sound really exciting, then let her think that you are against it. Kids always want to do what we don't want them to?
Or perhaps speak with one of her friends parents and possibly get her and a friend into something together, it would be less geeky then, and she would know someone.

just tell her The colleges love it when the students join lots of clubs and find an intrest 4 her if she is 2 art make her join the art club ect

get her joining like cheer and everything like that then she wil have alot of fun and wont b considered geeky

sign her up for one or 2 day workshops about things, whatever she finds she likes she will be more likely to join

tell her to call up her friend and get all of them to join a club and make it more fun... eerything is more fun with ur friends.
