I went to the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
Most people agree that Oklahoma isn't much fun.
If you like sports, there is OU, OSU, a AAA team in OKC and that is about it.
In downtown OKC, there is an area called Bricktown. There are lots of restaurants and bars there.

Also there is the OKC memorial at the site of the former Murrah building.

All in all, there isn't much. Good luck with your move.

Wait a minute. Is OK fun? Where else can you watch two tornadoes drop down while eating a dinner at the top of the Petroleum club? You just have to remember you are in Oklahoma. So the fun that has sustained us for 100 years is different than what goes on in other parts. Norman is a blast on OU game days. You can also still pop fireworks in Oklahoma. There is every sort of sport played in Oklahoma. And if all else fails you can always go to Walmart on Christmas eve with an elitest friend and get a big laugh.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. Is it fun? Not necessarily. Where are you moving to?
My husband was in the military and we lived in Hawaii, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. I was happy to come home to Oklahoma to raise my kids. I came from a small town that I knew what happened before my kids came home.
Tulsa and OKC are getting to be very dangerous cities though. I just heard on the news a few nights ago that there are 102 gangs in OKC.
The small town that I was from you never had to worry about crime at all. I live in a college town now and crime is still extremely low.
As far as fun, there are water parks, lots of lakes, concerts, caves with bats, waterfall parks, horse races, casino gambling, etc. There are lots of things to do, but you don't have the nightlife like in big cities.
I've lived in places more exciting, but never lived anywhere better than Oklahoma for raising kids and people being friendly.
A lot of people move here from California for some reason and the first thing they all say is that they can't believe how friendly Oklahomans are. That's a fact.
