I don't think there is a great deal of difference, but I do think you need to understand how to use it.

If you have dark pits under your eyes don't use concealer on the whole area. Take a cotton swab and dab the concealer in the crease where the pit meets your cheek. Feather it just enough so it isn't obvious.

If you have bags under your eyes, use cold compresses under them or Preparation H because it will minimize their size. Play up the top of your eyes to draw attention away from the bags. You could try using a concealer or foundation on the puffiest part of the bag to make it look less puffy.

Experiment and learn what works best for you.

If your trying to cover dark circles then you need to use a pale green concealer. The better lines of make up offer that.
If you are just wanting to blend skin tone and color then you need to use a shade lighter than your foundation.
Dab it on gently dont ever pull under eye or rub.
Go from right next to nose and eye to end of eye with the concealer. Good Luck

It depends what you are looking for Almay has a 16 hour concealer that works great if you're having a long day ahead of you, Physcians formula has awesome ones also, right now i'm using Revlon colorstay which is great too, usually I use Maybelline and it comes in a lipstick form, this is good too, it gives me a lot of coverage.

I use The Body Shop's Lightening Touch, you need to pat this on with your middle or ring finger, never rub as under the eye is very delicate, you can wear this under or over your foundation. Good luck

Mac concealer - great stuff... but a little oily.

Foundation might work too. You need to be more specific about the issue... are you trying to cover dark blueish color or what?
