My girlfriend and I have been together for almost 11 months. We met during our senior year of high school and we both believe found a part of what we were both missing. For college she is going to a college around here but I am going to another state. We both love each other very deeply but recently many people have been telling me and her that we will not stand being apart from each other and that we will end up finding someone else for company. I wish not to believe this but I have gotten a lot of answers with the same response. Can Anyone tell me if long distance relationships can work. And if they can, how do they work?

Yes they can work. It takes a lot of trust and committment. I've been in a long distance relationship for 4 years now, and it's hard, but you just have to make arrangements to be together, and there has to be communication. A lot of people say they don't work, but i think it depends on the people because everyone is different. You have to make sure you are the type of person to be in a long distance relationship because if you aren't it will not work. There's a book called "The Long-Distance Relationship Guide" by Caroline Tiger, it gives a lot of tips on how to handle the distance, and things u can do while u 2 are apart. And it also has advice from people who are also in long distance relationships.

yes they can work! although there are always negative comments about long distance relationships, there are some that do work, as long as both people can commit themselves. my sister and her boyfriend were in the same position, colleges in opposite sides of the state. they dated throughout high school and long-distance for 2 years and now they are engaged! it is ver possible. communication is very important though. make sure that you visit each other and stay interested in what activites your significant other is involved with at school. make sure to let her know that although you guys are far away from each other, you still care and want to know what she is doing. stay involved with her life!

If you really love each other then yes it can last! Just trust each other and dont get jealous easily.. talk with each other everyday!! when you have the time go see her and spend a couple of days with her.. when the time comes you will realise if you can do this or not.. the most important thing is to have faith in each other and trust..

you in basic terms stated which you're "fortunately in love." in case you rather love him then stay. i replaced into in a similar difficulty. My husband and that i've got been relationship in severe college and whilst i replaced right into a sophmore, he replaced right into a senior. After he graduated, He went into the Marine middle and for 2 years we had to maintain it an prolonged distance relationship till i finished severe college. It replaced into the final determination I actual have ever made. I made it via college and now we are awaiting our first baby jointly. A daughter who will arrive around Christmas. And sweetie, it replaced into all as a results of fact I made the determination to make it final and stay. Time is in basic terms a obsacle and "absense makes the middle advance fonder". That quote pulled me via boot camp and countless deployments. i'm hoping it may pull you thru your adventure as properly!

It can work, but it takes a really strong commitment on both of your parts and hard work. The odds still aren't good, but it's not impossible.
