Here's something that might help you figure out which animal spirit is yours:
think about which animals you are drawn to; which ones capture your interest the most.
Then, consider the traits that draw you to those particular animals.
Next, consider your own personality traits. Which animal do they most closely associate with?
I dated this lady a couple times, we determined her animal spirit was the hamster.
Don't laugh; consider the traits of a hamster - very clean, family oriented, likes to stay close to home, snuggles a lot.

I think it is foolish to assume Brother Bear is the only way to have heard of spirit animals. They are a major part of Native American traditions. I guess that shows how much people actually know about our country's history. Anyway... A spirit animal will reflect part of yourself (or perhaps the other way around). Think about who you are. What are some of your major characteristics? What animals share these traits? There are people who will tell you you only have one spirit animal, but I think there are actually supposed to be 7 (at least in the Lakota tradition) and they're called "medicine totems" or something like that. It's hard to remember. Don't expect to find all your totems at once. You'll probably find them out one at a time, maybe at times of change in your life when you really have to look at yourself. I'm 18 and I only know three of mine. My main totem is Cat, but I also share a spirit with Crow and Dragonfly. Good luck...

A spirit animal is a non-corporeal creature who essense, and symbolism is part of you. It can be like a guardian, or it can be a mediatation guide to enhance those parts of yourself that you want to focus on.

I'd recommend reading the book "Totems" by Ted Andrews. There are good explanations of what a totem or spirit animal is, a large glossary of animal symbolism and guides to help find your animal spirit.

My best advice is not to expect anything. I thought when I began my search tham my spirit guide would be a cat or a snake, maybe even a rat. But when I allowed an animal to choose me, it was the owl.

I'm almost positive you have seen Brother Bear. Well there is your answer. Its an animal spirit that perfectly compliments your spirit. It leads youin life and death, and helps and protects you. if you want to get one, well its not like you can go and buy one at your local store. This is an indian culture, if you really want one, well i suggest you confert to indian and start studying their culture and believes.

I think what you are looking for is a familiar. They usually choose you. I wanted a cat once and my bf hates cats. I was practically begging him for one and he kept coming up for reasons why I couldn't have one. Most of all because he hates them. We walked outside to go to the store and here comes the most beautiful black cat I had ever seen in my life! She wouldn't go away even after he took her somewhere and dropped her off. She came back time after time. He finally got the point that the cat choose me!

i think u always have 1 but u have to consentrat realy hard and i mean REALY HARD i tryd ones and go t a glimps at a black cat
