Her life at home must be very stressful for her. Just be happy you are not one of her kids. If she screams at adults who are "normal"...it makes you wonder what does she do to her kids when nobody is watching, right? Just feel sorry for her....don't take it personal....find a better work environment, will ya? I don't think she will change anytime soon.

First of all your lady boss is not egoistic. She may seem like it, but she isn't. She is STRESSED OUT!
She has been granted a higher position, which she probably thought was a great idea. I mean who wouldn't want more money. What she didn't probably count on, was a whole lot more of responsibility. She has two disabled children that she has to take care of! It is hard enough for her, now she has to deal with other people's mistakes (I know, you don't make big mistakes, but I am sure that there are others.) and with their mistakes it reflects badly on her. Making it seem like that she isn't capable of doing her job.
What you need to do is to make her feel better. Compliment her on how she's doing. Help her feel more relaxed (don't bring her coffee, that will make her even more wired). Ask her if she needs help with anything. Trust me, she will be truly grateful and when she is happy, so will everybody else.

Your question indicates to me that the problem is with you, not the boss. You refer to her as "a lady boss"--that tips me off that you have problems with women in authority. You are blaming her for getting angry "every time" "a few errors" are made--hey guy! It's your job not to make mistakes! Don't blame her when you're the one who has messed up. And you mention the fact that her kids are disabled--which has nothing to do with work--as though this is a key to something other than your own prejudice and discomfort. Do your job right, man, and the situation will improve 100%. Sheesh.

The same way you would with a male boss. Does your company have a Human Resources department? If so they can be a good resource. If not, ask to speak to your boss when she is not upset at you and ask her what you can do to foster a good working relationship. Then ask her if she is open to feedback and suggestions. Try to be constructive and not accusative.

Also in America, verbal abuse is grounds for quiting and being able to collect unemployment benefits while you look for other work.. But do your groundwork first - document the instances when she get abusive-- what triggered it, what she said, what you said. You may have to give this information to the unemployment office.

Request for a meeting with all employees and air your grievances. If not, write an anonymous letter to the higher management requesting for a change in the attittude of your boss.

Never, NEVER work for, or hire women.

Can you even imagine a female president? Emotionally screwed up to begin with, they'd "push the button" on their heavy flow days just for the hell of it.
