It's a recurring thing...

I would not allow my spouse to verbally abuse me. If he called me stupid and without a brain I would say something like "evidently I am because I married you!" or "stupid enough to take this crap" or some other retort, but I would not stand there and take it. Diffuse it and take power back...he's doing it to establish dominance over you...you are a person, not a dog and he needs to be corrected and understand this clearly. Dysfunction breeds dysfunction...your kids will learn this behavior and think it's ok because that's how daddy talks.

Is this a heat of the moment thing or a recurring theme? We all say things we shouldn't when we are mad.

If its a recurring theme then there may be deeper problems.

However either way you need to tell him you are not stupid and that he shouldn't say that about you.

I'll tell you what I said.

"That sounds pretty darn funny comming from a guy that can't use a fork without putting an eye out.

I used to love it when he did that. He was simply handing me an invitation to slice him with my tongue.

I would say things like.."Okay, where are you hiding your other four legs?"

He was no match for me.

Your husband obviously isn't that bright or he wouldn't act like that.

You are smarter. Now prove it to him and have fun! I always DID! LOL!!

Well were you acting stupid ? If he married you knowing you were stupid then what does that say about him?

If he just calls you names than I would suggest you tell him that it hurts you to be called names. So you wish he would refrian from that.If he loves you he will stop. If he doesn't then gets some insults handy and give it him.

Tell him he has a nice head on his shoulders, to bad it is not on his neck .

Look on the web for insults .There are plenty of them. ,

I would never put up with that sort of abuse but I could have a lot of fun dishing it back as he was sayng it....it also goes to show a great lack of love and caring on his part and you should not stick around and put up with it try walking out on him and see how fast he changes his attitude and see how long before he comes crawling to you on his knees.I would make him beg for your forgiveness.

Absolutely not! You can diagree with me but not attack me personally. That's not the way to resolve problems. Think of the example that sets for your kids???? It's never okay to treat your mate like that, man or woman.

No, but I did use the word too. It's just common word with no meaning when the two people is argue. Don't take it serious.
