Whenever I swim, when the water gets in my nose it seems to go down my throat. My whole nose and thraot get irritated and it kinda chokes me a little. Is this normal? How can I stop this without wearing noseclips?

It's pretty normal if you are swimming in chlorine water/pool water. Only way to stop it that I know of is to hold your nose with your fingers or make sure you do not breathe in when underwater.

its not the water that gets through your nose and to your troat but it is actually the smell of chlorine mixed up with the wate vapor in your nasal cavity

when you swim,
you should inhale through your mouth and exhale through your nose underwater

Nose clip is about the only way. Sorry, I know you might feel a bit geeky, but you'll get used to it.
