I *hate* moving, I avoid it if possible. I'm a collector. So what's the best strategy to tackle the tons of scattered things I have and move them without creating total chaos? I have yet to master this.

Get boxes that are the same size at first. Pack the nik-naks and pictures. Mark every box and what room they should go in. Pack away out of season clothing. Have at least one yard sale. OH yes, you have stuff you don't need and haven't used. I had two yard sales the last time I moved.

The best way to tackle a dreaded job is to "just do it". Get some empty boxes and start to fill them up and do not stop. Eventually you will get a sense of having made progress and will be inspired to finish the job.

Other than that, hire someone to pack your things for you.

Good luck with your move.

Start with the collectables, since you'll probably be more likely to package them well because you care about them, that way, when you are SO tired of packing stuff and just want to throw things in boxes all you'll have left is clothes and towels and stuff.
