I'm 14 and I want a PDA. I don't want to regret the choice because if it turns out that the thing is pure junk, well, I just wasted hundreds of dollars. So which is better?

It depends what you want to use the PDA for. The life drive has a 4GB internal storage while the Axim has 128 mb I believe. The axim however is more powerful in terms of processor with a 20% performance increase. Also the Dell will be able to play windows games such as Age of the Empires 3.

The Axim is made for business people while the life drive is more of a consumer device. Neither of them are junk its more of a matter of taste and need. Both devices can search the net wirelessly and both have bluetooth.

The memory of the Dell is upgrable with SD cards but that cost quite a bit. If you want something for music and internet go with the life drive. If you're mad about performance and plan to use the most demanding applications buy the dell and upgrade the memory with an SD card.
