Yes, they were brought up that way. But that used to be the case until last generation. With more and more Indian women working and being independent, that concept has gone for a toss now. With Indian male unable to shake off earlier beliefs in marital relationship, many marriages of educated & working Indian women are on the rocks these days.

Yes they are brought up such a way that they do not feel it right to question the male supremacy.
They are financially dependent on the make counterpart .
The Stigma of divorce and single mom is so high that it is next to impossible to live alone.
Every one will try to have free sex from you.
I am not talk about 4 Indian Metros the situation might be lil different there but then the rest of India is covered in my answer.

Yes,the indian girls are like that. .But hey one thing even though an indian woman is more understanding she is also a strong woman who can stand up to herself in all ups and down situations which the marriage consists of.

True..that is because of the mental make-up ..To elaborate further, the society wants women to be more understanding, tolerant , patient ..and goes to the extent of glorifying women..without really meaning what they do..Media and the TV play a very big role in this...
Anyway, if things have to change for the better, women themselves have to change their outlook..and feel that they are in no way inferior to men and that they need not be subservient..
And the society as a whole should consider feminism as not against men but only against the regressive and atrocious attitudes..

From what I have read and seen, I think they are brought up to totally disregard themselves, their needs and their desires and to subjegate themselves to their husbands, and by extension, their mother-inlaws.
